The Best Diet Plan is NO Diet at all

eat healthy What is the Best Diet to follow? Have you ever asked yourself that or had other people ask that? Personally I don't believe in dieting per se. My response would be “The best diet to follow is to follow NO diet at all.”

I’m telling you what you already know. Most diet programs don't work. They are some of the most typical reasons everyone has such difficulty losing weight. Everyone is making the mistake of following a diet as opposed to following a delicious strategy for eating which will satisfy their hunger, their taste buds and enable them to reach and maintain optimum weight and optimum health.

With all the junk food, false advertising, and false information out nowadays, how is this even possible? A delicious means of eating healthy which will help me slim down while doing so?

The best diet plan will be one you can stay with (for longer than only a week), one which incorporates delicious foods and one you're happy with, in addition to one you can maintain for life.

Here are some suggestions that will help you develop the Best Diet to suit your needs:

1. Only eat foods you like.

What I'm saying here is please don't start a crash diet of cottage cheese and grapefruit when you absolutely hate those foods. Healthy food choices won't have to be similar to bird seed. Why don't you consider scrambled whole eggs in butter along with your favorite veggies and two slices of sprouted grain toast? French toast made from healthy bread, and eggs? A juicy burger or steak for lunch or dinner? Why not consider creating your own pizza from healthy ingredients? I really could go on and on with a long list of delicious foods. The idea is you don't have to eat like a bird or eat bland meals to become healthy and lose weight. Chose the healthy food you love and get creative with those. You will discover you'll have a wonderful quantity of tasty food options.

2. Do not go cold turkey.

Rome wasn’t built in a day right? There is no need to change every one of your habits over night. Start with one healthy eating habit weekly or eliminate one “not so good” food every week. This can end up being life changing in just 1-2 months. Not to mention it is going to remove any stress or anxiety you might have over changing all your habits overnight. Begin with the simplest one for you. What about drinking water? Could you replace your sugar beverages with water and simply try this for one week? What about just replacing a few sodas with water? A single step every week can make your transition easy and simple.

3. Don't go hungry.

Yet another common mistake I see is people starving themselves in order to lose weight quickly. The simple truth is you don't need to feel hunger so that you can successfully lose weight. Actually, the contrary is true. You have to provide your body enough nourishment (good nourishment) in order to see weight loss results. Be sure to feed your body regularly during the day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are essential but so are snacks in between meals. Munching on such things as raw nuts, fresh fruits and healthy trail mixes can actually stop you from enduring any hunger during the day and help control any cravings that could arise.

Keep in mind that the Best Diet you can begin today is an eating plan that does NOT resemble a diet. Tell people you had French toast for breakfast, chicken stir fry for lunch and a juicy steak with potatoes for supper and they'll wonder how on earth you're slimming down and looking great.

My wife was a diabetic for over 40 years until she received a pancreas transplant recently. Healthy food has always been something we strived for and, of course, our menu had to be planned around her needs.
